The perfect spot for capturing the Northern Lights and admiring the landscapes of Pyhä-Luosto National Park.
The Scenic Hut is designed and built with utmost consideration for the surrounding nature and natural phenomena of light. The day hut was inaugurated in the fall of 2022. Situated on the northern slopes of Ukko-Luosto, there is a well-maintained trail leading to the hut. The route includes significant changes in elevation, featuring steep ascents and descents. Access to the trail leading to Ukko-Luosto Scenic Hut can be found near the Luosto slope parking area, starting from the corner of Luosto Caravan Park towards Tikkalaavu. The distance from the gate of Pyhä-Luosto National Park to Ukko-Luosto Scenic Hut is approximately 2 km. Hike takes about 30-40 minutes to there.
Fell Lightscapes Exhibition
The Fell Lightscapes exhibition in the hut introduces visitors to the various seasons of the fell and the celestial phenomena of the Arctic sky. In the exhibition, you can delve into topics such as the night sky, the Northern Lights, and their photography. It is advisable to allocate time for stopping at the day hut and touring the exhibition. The Fell Lightscapes exhibition was created by the exhibition team of Pyhä-Luosto National park and Metsähallitus, including Anna Pakkanen, Emma Napiri, and Juha Paso. The design of the hut was done by LUO Arkkitehdit Oy.
